Gout and Chyle Causing Arthritis a Joint

Title: Chyle and gout causing acute monoarthritis: some unusual findings.
Authors:
Kodali VR and Dunn NA
Publication: Clin Rheumatol. 2005 Feb;24(1):70-1. Epub 2004 Jul 15.

The author presented a case of a 67-year old man with acute arthritis of the right knee. When fluid was extracted from the knee, they found milky fluid with uric acid crystals. The man had prior trauma or injury to that knee.

The authors noted that the presence of chylous or milky fluid in the knee was rare and that the acute arthritis of the man’s knee could be caused by gout.
