Despite reports suggesting the link between isotretinoin (brand
name Accutane) and depression and suicide, the authors used more
rigorous studies to show that there are no such link. Nevertheless,
the authors concluded that physicians should be aware of the symptoms
of depression and to consider discontinuing isotretinoin treatment
of depressed adolescents and young adults.
