Combination of topical retinoid and antibiotics treatment for
acne vulgaris or the common acne is very common. Adapalene, a
new type of retinoid seems to be safe and well-tolerated.
In this 12-week study, the authors tested the efficacy and safety
of adapalene with doxycycline antibiotics, as compared to doxycycline
alone. They found that the combination treatment is significantly
better than antibiotics alone, and has no increased occurrence
of side effects.
