Adapalene and Doxycycline for Severe Acne

Combination of topical retinoid and antibiotics treatment for acne vulgaris or the common acne is very common. Adapalene, a new type of retinoid seems to be safe and well-tolerated.

In this 12-week study, the authors tested the efficacy and safety of adapalene with doxycycline antibiotics, as compared to doxycycline alone. They found that the combination treatment is significantly better than antibiotics alone, and has no increased occurrence of side effects.
