Childhood acne, present in infants since birth, in weeks-old infants, or 3-months to 6-months old babies, may signal an underlying disease, reaction to drugs, ointments, and ingestion of toxins. Childhood acne may also persist into adolescence, and may be a risk factor for severe acne after puberty.
