Isotretinoin in Kuwait Acne Patients

Title: Isotretinoin in acne vulgaris: a prospective analysis of 160 cases from Kuwait
Authors:
Al-Mutairi N, et al.
Publication: J Drugs Dermatol. 2005 May-Jun;4(3):369-73.

In this study, 160 patients with moderate to severe acne were treated with isotretinoin. The study was completed with 117 patients (some dropped out of the study, whereas others were excluded for other reasons). The authors found that 95.5% of patients treated with isotretinoin achieved complete or partial clearance from acne. However 42% experienced relapse – nearly half of them are then given a second course of the drug.
