Non-Acne Uses of Isotretinoin

In addition to acne, isotretinoin can also be used to treat:

  • Psoriasis
  • Pityriasis rubra pilaris
  • Condylomata accuminata
  • Skin cancers (basal cell carcinoma and squamous cell carcinoma)
  • Rosacea
  • Hidreadenitis suppurativa (acne inverse)
  • Granuloma annulare
  • Lupus erythematosus
  • Lichen planus

In case of skin cancers, combination of isotretinoin and interferon-alpha-2a may be more effective than isotretinoin alone.
