Topical Antibiotics and Acne

In a review of 50 clinical studies using the topical antibiotic
erythromycin to treat acne patients, the authors find that there
is a significant decrease in its effectiveness since the drug
was introduced in the 1970s. This may signal the development of
antibiotic-resistant acne-causing priopionibacteria.
