The authors conducted a statistical analysis of the dates in which 1379 patients which were diagnosed with pityriasis rosea (and psoriasis) in 3 different locations: Kuwait, Minnesota, and Diyarbakir, Turkey.

The authors found that there was 3 significant clustering of dates of patients coming in for pityriasis rosea treatment – there was also 1 negative cluster (where less patients come to seek treatment). In contrast, they found no clustering of dates of patients seeking treatment for psoriasis.
